Full-Time Online

Full-Time Online

Students in the Green Bay School District have a full-time online option at John Dewey Academy of Learning. Students who prefer to work from home can design a personalized learning plan that meets their specific needs. In addition to virtual learning, students have the opportunity to participate in on campus courses and activities at JDAL and/or their neighborhood middle or high school.

HOW JDAL IS DIFFERENT
JDAL uses a unique, blended advisory model with a mix of both on campus and online learners in the same classroom with two instructors. Students enrolled in JDAL Online will learn using a project based learning model and will have the same experiences as students learning on campus.

Every online student is assigned an advisor who will help guide the student and their family through the online experience. The advisor is the family's "go to person" for all school related questions. The family and the advisor work together to review the student's transcript, design a learning plan, select project work, and conduct weekly check-ins.

The advisor is also available to help coordinate academic or personal support from other advisors, school social workers, or counselors, etc. While online learning requires a commitment to independent learning, online students always have access to the support they need to be successful.

Many online learners enjoy the flexibility online learning provides, having more independent work time throughout the day, but JDAL Online students are also required to attend synchronous class times. Students at JDAL also enjoy being able to work on campus as often as they like, as well as having the option to join on campus experiences and/or field trips.
