Transportation

Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Green Bay Area Public School District Transportation Services Department page. We recognize that getting to and from school is an important part of your child’s school day. We strive to provide safe and timely transportation to all eligible students. We care about the safety of every child.

Bus App Coming Soon

In the near future, we hope to be able to offer the MyStop bus app. We are working with our vendor and bus companies to wrap up some final details. Our goal is to have the app available for all buses no later than January 19th. We will send an email with instructions about how to access the app via School Messenger to all riders whose buses are ready.

Please go to the Bus App Release Status Document to see the anticipated and actual release dates. This spreadsheet is organized by bus company. Simply click on the name of your bus company to see the release schedule.

The MyStop app will give you an idea of when your bus will arrive at the stop. The app relies on real-time GPS data, which means that it can take some time to refresh (sometimes 2-3 minutes). Also, the app only works if you have a predictable weekly schedule. To learn more about how the app works, go to the MyStop Bus App page.

Transportation Eligibility

Every day, we receive questions from those of you who want to know if your child is eligible to ride the bus. There are some state statutes and district policies that will help you understand who we can and cannot transport. Please learn more about whether or not your child qualifies for busing.

Ride the Bus for Free!

The trip planner is currently not functioning on Green Bay Metro website. They apologize for the inconvenience and are hopeful it will be functioning soon.

Did you know that all GBAPS students can ride the Metro bus for free? It's easy to Stop, Step and Roll with Green Bay Metro. Students between 6th and 12th grade must have a school ID to ride. Students younger than 6th grade do not need an ID but must have an older sibling or adult with them if they are younger than eight years of age. Click "Metro City Buses" on the left for more info.

Bus Stops

Bus stops are located at corners determined to be most convenient for the majority of students in a neighborhood. As route times can vary from day to day, students are expected to arrive at their stop ten minutes before their scheduled time. Students in 4K to 5th grade may walk up to 1/4 mile to their stop. Students in grades 6-12 may walk up to 1/2 mile.

Generally, home stops are only created for a student with special needs or if the roadway has been deemed hazardous by the sheriff’s department.
