Three Green Bay Area Public Schools decorate holiday trees at Austin-Straubel Airport
Three Green Bay Area Public Schools came out on top in the 1st Annual GRB Arts Program Holiday Tree contest at Austin Straubel International Airport.
West High School took first place with their tree design, "Crystalized," and designs from 4th graders from King Elementary School and students from Aldo Leopold Community School took second place prizes.
Each school’s prize was a grant to decorate their own 10-20 foot holiday tree at the Austin-Straubel Airport.
West High School decorated their tree with glass ornaments, hand-crafted by West High School Students. The tree is 20 feet tall and named “Crystalized.”
King Elementary named their tree “The Way of the Oneida.” King Elementary School students helped decorate the tree to highlight Oneida culture, featuring ornaments representing the Wolf, Bear, and Turtle Clans.
Aldo Leopold Community School decorated their tree with “snowflakes from the children of Green Bay.” The tree features handmade paper snowflakes created by more than 200 third through eighth grade students.
West High School's tree will be on display in the grand lobby at the airport. King Elementary School's tree is on display in Concourse A and Aldo Leopold Community School's tree is on display in Concourse B. tree. For security reasons, Concourse trees will be unavailable to non-ticketed guests.
