Howe Elementary Book Vending Machine

Howe Elementary Community School Cuts Ribbon on New Book Vending Machine
Posted on 01/19/2024
On January 19, 2024, Howe Elementary Community School was joined by the Brown County United Way (BCUW) to cut the ribbon on its new book vending machine.

Through funding by the BCUW Investment in Community Schools, Howe was able to purchase the vending machine.

On their birthday, students are given a coin and able to select a book of their choice.

The book is theirs to take home for their personal library.

As Howe worked with families, teachers and students, they realized that there continued to be a need to place culturally responsive books into the hands of students.

The vending machine is a fun way to engage students in a love of learning and build the students' personal libraries.
